We consider “Romeo” to be our breeding program’s “Firestarter” because he definitely “kicked it up a notch”. If you need to speed up a mare’s feet, add some fire or cow - this is your stallion.

“Romeo” is a once-in-a-lifetime horse for us. His stout, strong, correct conformation gives him the open-caliber talent for everything we put before him. From the NRCHA showpen to ranch work, we are always impressed with his ability to do the job.

Cowy, smart, and full of try. As you can see from the pictures he is also quite the mover. What you can’t see in the pictures is how great minded and smooth to ride he is.

The best part is how much of him shines through in his progeny. He really stamps them with talent and a ton of cow. We have bred him to a very large variety of mares, from daughters of Im Countin Checks & Quejanaisalena to our home-raised ranch mares, and they all are loaded with talent, flash, and confidence, are very trainable, and as smooth to ride as Romeo.

This special stallion will make a great cross on mares that need more go, quicker feet, and harder stops. His oldest progeny will be 6 in 2025, and foal crops have been small. Still, he currently has progeny earning $ and points in NRCHA, AQHA, AQHA RHB, Cutting, and several types of roping, including at the futurity level, SHOT, Penning, Sorting, & Barrels.

He may only stand at 14h, but you don’t feel it sitting on him because he is so thick and strong. He should have been much taller as both his parents were 14.2+ but he lacked crucial nutrition prior to us purchasing him. He also sires MUCH larger than himself. We have long yearlings and 2-year-olds that eclipse him in height by mares close to his size. If you are looking to purchase an amazing stallion, there are circumstances where we would offer him for sale or a possible % ownership partnership. As a small program, we do not have the resources to manage & stand 3 stallions.

‘Romeo’ is kept in show shape in case he is needed for lessons or Jason gets nostalgic (frequently) and wants to enter him in a bridle class. He has also been a great teacher for many of our customers. 100% sound to show and breed, great in the arena and out on the ranch. He is easy to collect, freezes extremely well, and has had several successful pasture breeding seasons.

Mare Owners - In the unlikely event that we do sell ‘Romeo’ during the time that your mare will need semen (2025 breeding season through 2026 potential rebreeds), the new owners will be contractually obligated to allow us to manage all existing outside mare contracts. We will not sell him to anyone who does not sign something that makes that ironclad to protect you and your future foal. So if you wish to breed to him, do not worry about us selling him.
