PQH Training: From Start To Finish
With 35 years of experience training horses from start to finish, Jason is one of those rare trainers that is versatile enough to take a horse through that entire spectrum. He adapts the training process to suit each horses' individual needs and talents, truly training them to be trained.
His years of experience, patience, and confidence help him earn the trust & respect needed to effectively start and finish a performance horse. Jason has started thousands of horses under saddle and trained countless others for performance event futures.
Jason has earnings & high point awards in NRCHA AQHA, AQHA Versatility Ranch Horse World Shows - Resv. & 2 Bronze, AQHA VRH - many Open All-Around Championships, AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenges World Finals earning, NRVHA, FQHR, Cutting Jackpots, Heading & Heeling, Breakaway Roping, Steer Stopping, Ranch Rodeos, and KPRA earning as well as showing in many other events & associations.
He is an approved NRCHA judge, a 3rd generation cattle rancher as well as a 40-year AQHA breeder.
Most of all, Jason is a horseman. Heck he even trained polo ponies and fox hunted on the east coast for a while.
Please note: We only offer a handful of horse training spots to the public and have a 120 day minimum on all training horses with very few exceptions. Jason no longer accepts any type of “problem horse” and does not take in older horses to start. Jason prefers to concentrate his knowledge and abilities on starting and training young performance horses to help give them a productive and hopefully stellar show career. Long term training and showing situations will be given preference. Please feel free to reach out with questions.
Once trained, horses from our program are versatile thinkers with good minds, work ethic, & respectful attitudes. A lot of pride goes into molding horses that are happy to work and show.
Jason’s training focus is mostly for Reined Cow Horse and Versatility Ranch Horse and similar events.
For people who want to work on their own skills we offer adult ‘Cowboy Camps’. This is a 2-5 day individual to small group instructional setting with Jason. It is customized to your personal goals with your horse.
You can work on anything from colt starting to improving performance confidence. We do not offer horse rentals for clinics or ‘Cowboy Camps’.

Jason gives many difference types of clinics. This one was for the all the horse training students at Lamar Community College - 12 hours of demonstration showing how to start colts and how to progress a green horse. During this clinic, Jason worked hard to share the most valuable information an experienced horseman can give to the next generation.
